GETTING TO THE ISLAND

Martha's Vineyard is a pretty sweet little island off the coast of Cape Cod, MA. You know when people complain about US Presidents taking vacations? This is where they are vacationing. Also, JAWS was filmed here in 1974. They're still super excited about that. Here's how you get there.

BY BOAT

Our preferred way to get to the Vineyard. Drive down to Falmouth and hop on the Steamship Authority ferry at Woods Hole for a short boat ride to the island. The ferry will take you to either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven. If you're coming in from out of town, you'll want to fly to Boston Logan airport, then grab a car and head to the ferry.

**the only option for bringing a car to the island. Make sure to book 6-8 months in advance if you want to reserve a spot for your car**

*NOTE: There are lots of cabs on the island, so you don't totally need a car, but if you like you can bring one via the Woods Hole ferry, and round-trip rates are around $140 for September 2016. Sounds pricey but it's a good option, and you'll save money on cabs while you're here.

BY PLANE

Remember the hilarious 90's sitcom

Wings with Tony Shalhoub? Well that's Nantucket. Different Island. But Martha's Vineyard has a nice little airport serviced by Jet Blue and Cape Air, etc.

GETTING AROUND ONCE YOU'RE HERE

If you don't plan to bring a car, no worries. There are numerous cab companies on the island, as well as a cheap and easy bus service that goes from town to town. You'll need to bring cash for either of these options.

*2016 UPDATE: Uber is now on the island. Go get em.

You can also rent a car or bikes if you're into exploring.

We will have shuttles to and from the wedding, with pickup/dropoff locations in Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, and Martha's Vineyard High School.
